DriveU

DriveU is a Bengaluru-based provider of on-demand drivers for private car owners. Founded in July 2015, the company allows booking a driver from its website, mobile apps or chat platforms. DriveU offers drivers on hire for a few hours or days. The company provides its services from Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi (New Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad).
Service
DriveU allows customers to book the nearest available driver through its mobile app, website and over the phone. The company also allows customers to book the drivers via chat platforms. Once the booking is confirmed, all the necessary information such as driver’s name, picture, rating, phone number, location, distance from customer’s pickup point and estimated time of arrival is provided to the customer. The customer can track the driver’s approach to the pick-up location, and then the ride as well.
Acquisitions and partnerships
In May 2016, DriveU acquired Gurgaon-based competitor CallAtHome in an to expand the services in the city. DriveU has also partnered with Bengaluru Traffic Police to promote safe driving across the city. In September 2016, the company partnered with Zoomcar to provide doorstep delivery of Zoomcar's vehicles to the customers.
Funding
DriveU started as a bootstrap funded company from its CEO. In November 2015, the company raised an undisclosed amount in its seed round and used it for developing its Android and iOS applications. In March 2016, DriveU raised seed investment 1 million USD in funding from Unitus Seed Fund and other Silicon Valley angel investors for geographical expansion and to get more drivers onto their platform.
