Drew Powers

Drew Powers is a radio personality.
Biography
Drew Powers was born to parents Paul and Kathy in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Paul worked at CKPR-FM and frequently brought Drew to work with him, stirring the child's interest in radio. At the age of 7, Drew began using his father's tape recorder to record his own radio shows.
The family later moved to Chatham, Ontario where Drew attended high school. In the summer after graduating, he was arrested for running a pirate radio station. He was released the same day, having to pay a hefty fine.
Fanshawe College
When the summer ended, Drew enrolled in the radio broadcasting program at Fanshawe College where he honed his skills and perfected his radio voice.
CFCO
After graduating, Drew got an internship at the 630 CFCO radio station. He was very disappointed with the work they assigned to him, consisting mainly of making coffee.Then after time returned as edge radios top 40 host.
Freelancing
After leaving CFCO, Drew lent his voice to a number of independent projects, including training videos for local industry such as Union Gas and various buisinesses, television commercials to air on the local tv stations, and master of ceremonies at several night club shows. While he found his work more enjoyable than at CFCO, he wanted to go back to radio.
Lambton College
Drew decided to go back to school and chose the Media Fundamentals program at Lambton College in Sarnia, Ontario, as it would allow him to make new contacts in a new city, plus give him a background in other facets of the media industry. While there, he found a friend and mentor in John Murray, the program coordinator of Media Fundamentals. John's words would be the driving force for Drew's future career. He also became friends with the program's teaching assistant, Colin Anderson, who would later become Drew's business partner.
