Dr. Wooday P. Krishna Dr. Wooday P. Krishna, Honorary General Secretary, Seshadripuram Educational Trust, Bangalore, and Former Member, State Disaster Management Authority, Govt. of Karnataka, is a rare blend of an engineer, educationist, social activist and humanist. Born in 1963 in Bangalore, he hails from a family of freedom fighters. After receiving his early education at the famous Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala, Mysore, he earned a First Class Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a degree in Law. He followed this up with a doctorate in Business Administration. Dr. Krishna is a Chartered Engineer specializing in valuation of industrial assets and arbitration. A recipient of Eminent Engineer Award for contribution in the field of Engineering from the Institution of Engineers (India), he has served on the Board of Management of Engineering Staff College of India, Hyderabad. He has been the Convener of the Indian Engineering Congress - India’s largest Engineering Conclave - held in Bangalore in 2011. He is a noted social activist occupying important positions in renowned service organizations like the Indian Red Cross Society, the Tuberculosis Association of India, Bharath Seva Dal, Gandhi Peace Foundation and the Youth Hostels Association of India. A Fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (U.K.), Dr. Krishna is a recipient of three state awards from Govt. of Karnataka including State Award for Welfare of Disabled (2008) and State Rajyotsava Award (2004) for Social Service.
