Stephen Atalebe

Stephen Atalebe is an emerging writer on deep rooted Northern Ghana Frafra Culture.
His first book in the Cowboy trilogy, Cowboy: The Genesis, told of the young cowboys who decided to take destiny into their own hands and influence their future. They decided to steal their parents cows and absconded to a different place to seek education. It is also a love relationship between Bia and Mmaa who are externally related.
Cowboy: The King's Palace opened with the community sending a search team to bring back the boys and the cows. The search team was however engaged in lustrous activities at Atiburu, forgetting about their mission which enormously aided the boys to make a clean escape however not without losing Mmaa to the King of Atiburu who forcefully took her away from the boys.
The Return is a follow up as the boys have succeeded in securing the education they so dearly needed but Bia had to make a suicide mission to rescue his lost love and son.
Ancestral Manipulations which was published in 2009 is a story of a very wicked Chief who killed his son because he married a woman from an enemy kingdom, not however until the couple managed to hide their new baby with the healer Baba Apoyongo. They all died, the woman through thunder and the man through the sword of his father. The boy was thus to inherit his grandfather but his existence was secret since his grandfather embarked on an expedition to kill the boy. The story addresses such heated topics like female circumcision and vengeance, hatred, wickedness, love, and bravery.
His latest book is Sins of the fathers which has been published by Createspace,Amazon. The book which is set in the frafra socio-cultural world is a story about the unfortunate thing that happened to an innocent boy who was found drowned in the village's dam. He was buried, but later woke up to find himself in a grave. Through a series of deductions, his only friend who is considered a moron in the village, was able to rescue him, but when the elders consulted the soothsayer, they were asked to kill the boy to atone for the sins of his grandfather. Will the elders succeed and will the boy's father finally put a knife to the boy's throat?
