Michael Klein is an innovator in the field of dental Implantology. He is an inventor, prosthodontist, author, speaker, and educator. Career Klein is a pioneer in the technology used in computer-guidance for dental implant surgery. He holds multiple patents for this technology. In the 90's Klein saw implant dentistry as conventionally practiced was expensive, risky, and required of the practitioner intensive training and dexterity. He recognized that most U.S. dentists were disinclined to perform or even refer out implant surgery. Moreover, research reports showed him that even specialists were having difficulty placing the implants properly. To solve the problem, Klein decided to design tools that could improve the accuracy of implant placement in a cost effective and pleasant fashion. In 1995 Klein became founder and president of Implant Logic Systems, Ltd.(ILS) Today with the help of Klein's surgical template and computer guided software, the general dentist can accurately and efficiently perform implant surgery. ILS proved itself a commercial leader in the development of technology, software and hardware for computer guided dental implant surgical procedures, and in 2008 BioHorizons, Inc. purchased ILS. Klein is the Director of Advanced Implant Dentistry and Oral Restoration, in Cedarhurst, New York, where he maintains a private practice limited to Prosthodontics and Oral Implantology.
