Douglas Millstone

Douglas Millstone (20 February 1956–1 April 1979) was a top flight Ultimate Frisbee player, who played his full 8 year career with the University of Cambridge Ultimate Frisbee team throughout the 1970's. The University of Cambridge fielded players such as Gary Urchfont, Bill Davies and Ed Barratt. He was a member of Christ's College, Cambridge, and was pursuing a PhD in computer science at the time of his death .

A left-handed Ultimate player, Douglas furthered the efforts of Joel Silver; the person regarded as the father of the game, by bringing Ultimate Frisbee to the wider attention of the UK.

Douglas was renowned for scoring points through difficult completions, which lead to the term to 'Doug'. This is now part of Ultimate Frisbee parlance.
