Babajide Ogunbiyi

Babajide “Jide” Ogunbiyi (born November 30, 1986 in Gwynedd, Pennsylvania) is an American- Nigerian, football player who is currently on trial with Leeds United.
Career
College
Ogunbiyi, a 6-4, 212-pound defender played college soccer at the Santa Clara University. During his college career he appeared in 77 games scoring 11 goals and recording 8 assists. He helped Santa Clara to consecutive West Coast Conference titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances. Ogunbiyi, also played forward during his college career, recording 6 goals in 2007.
Professional
Babajide Ogunbiyi was selected by Red Bull New York of Major League Soccer with the 18th pick in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft. However, he did not come to terms with the American side. Instead he elected to pursue opportunities in Europe. In April, 2009 it was announced that Ogunbiyi was on trial with British side Leeds United in hopes of securing a move to the club.
International
Ogunbiyi is a member of the Nigerian Youth National Team Program, and was part of the the Olympic Team Pool. In November 2007 he was called up to the Nigerian U-23 National Team, and in 2008 trained with the full National Team.
