Three friends, one world, no money and no security! In Doing The World For Free, Kristopher Heikka, Jenny Lester Strååt and Liam McCullough attempt to do the impossible; to travel around the world, without spending a dime. They cannot pay for either food, accommodation, nor travel. They are totally dependent on their survival skills, and the hospitality of those they meet on the way. The online audience and strangers around the world becomes their help, guides and most importantly, friends. Though in the most dire of needs with no help around they at least have a small tent, a fishingrod and plenty of good spirit. One of the main reasons for this journey is to open up a discussion about how we as humans alienate ourselves from the responsibility we have towards others. In times as dire as this, after economical crisis, wars and barriers of prejudice between people, they wish to bring forth that with the help of others you can get far. Instead of building up fences where the issue of money governs all, they cross the borders of what you “can” do by casting money aside, and instead put trust into the people. They started in Stockholm, Sweden, so far they have visited 7 countries, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France and Spain, but this is just the beginning. None of them have ever traveled like this before; hitchhiking and sleeping in the homes of strangers, but they all agree it´s the best way to travel: - “You meet so many lovely individuals, and the kindness you experience on the way are really breathtaking; There is no way you could ever be cynical again...” Official website
