DJ Rossstar is a notable internet radio host who started "DJ Rossstar's Punk Rock Show" in September of 2002. He broadcasts his show every Wednesday and Thursday at 7 pm PST. .
History He started the show while he was attending American University in DC, due to his love of bands such as Green Day and New Found Glory. He moved the show to his apartment in Los Angeles and soon after the move, the show got picked up by IdobiRadio. In 2006 Havoc Television began filming and airing some of Rossstar's radio shows on Havoc on Demand -- a free VOD channel available on most cable providers. Since then, Havoc has given Rossstar a gig as host every Monday night from 11pm-3am PST on their live video/text messaging show, "Havoc on the 101", which airs on DirecTV Channel 101. In 2007 popular social networking and media site Buzznet.com hired Rossstar as their official host -- thus opening him up to a new range of interviewees including: singer/actress Mandy Moore, Kendra Wilkinson of "The Girls Next Door", Jason Wahler of "The Hills", and even reality TV star Danny Bonaduce. He also interviews popular bands and posts the interviews to his buzznet page, where fans can view and comment on them. Despite all of his jobs, Ross still says that his radio show is his favorite job. His favorite guests are the ones who can make him laugh, which include pop punk band All Time Low, and even the Matches. His one goal is that one day the show will be turned into its own TV show where the listeners can still talk to the bands, or a show with a studio audience. DJ Rossstar can now be seen broadcasting live on Stickam during the regular scheduled times.
Bands on the Show Some larger name bands include Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Plain White Ts, Yellowcard, Saosin, Boys Like Girls, Good Charlotte, Gym Class Heroes and the list goes on. Many of these bands that went on to hit it big did their first interviews on Rossstar's show.
