Division of Afghanistan

Afghanistan is a landlocked country located in Central Asia and is bordered by Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and China. It compromises of multiple ethnic groups including Pashtun, Tajik, Hazara, Uzbek, Aimak, Turkmen, Baloch, Kryghz, Nooristani, and a few others. The major languages spoken are Dari, Pashtu, Uzbek and Turkmen. Islam is the dominant religion with approximately 90% Sunni and 10% Shia.
Due to differences in culture, language, race, and interpretations of Islam many proposals have been written to divide the country. One suggestion has been to divide the country into 2 parts, one comprising of areas where Pashto is spoken as a majority and the other comprising of areas where Pashtu is not spoken as a majority. Other proposals has been set forth to divide the country into 8 regions based around economic hubs including Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, Mazar-i-Sharif, Kunduz, Jalalabad, Khost and Bamyan. Proposed names of the new countries include:
