Dezomond Meeks appeared on the fourth season of American Idol premiered on January 18, 2005 and continued until May 25, 2005. It was won by Carrie Underwood. American Idol Audition Meeks auditioned in Orlando, Florida he sang James Brown's "I Feel Good". Paula Abdul was immediately impressed with him but had to convince Randy to change his vote to a yes after Randy said no. "He did James Brown and he did it better than James Brown. He is worthy beyond anyone we've put through today." Meeks was known throughout early stages of the competition for his dancing. After Idol Meeks's single "Them and Me" hit #5 on idolwaves.com a site that charts radio play of material put out by American Idol Alumni. He landed a record contract with Joey Sykes and Fabrizio Grossi of Sounds of Pieces Inc in Los Angeles and his new album "Music is My Sanity" is going to be available in stores in April of 2009. Meeks maintains a friendship with Mikalah Gordon who also appeared in Season 4.
