Denton's Green is a suburb within the town of St Helens, Merseyside. It is located approximately a mile north of the town centre within the traditional Windle township. Housing The area is made up mainly of people from working class and lower middle class households . This includes terraced and semi detached property as well as apartments. There is also a small amount of detached property. Entertainment and leisure The area has an impressive amount of places for entertainment and leisure. There are four public houses: The Gerard, The Abbey, The Seven Stars and The Lingholme. Two leisure centres - Queens Park and Ruskin Drive . There are also several playing fields for public use. These include Queens Park, Cowley Hill, Bishop Road and Victoria Park. Queens Park contains facilities for bowling, tennis, basketball, rugby and football. St Helens Cricket Club is based on Windleshaw Road. St Helens Recreation Cricket Club, aka St Helens Recs, is based in Ruskin Drive, formerly Pilkington's Sports Ground. Windle Labour Club is located on Dentons Green Lane. Education facilities Cowley Language College and De La Salle are the two high schools in the area. The schools are widely respected in St Helens and considered the best in the town alongside Rainford High. Rivington and Bleak Hill are the main primary schools in the area. Local democracy The area falls under the Windle Ward and is currently represented by three Conservative councillors.
