Dennis Kneepkens

Dennis Kneepkens (January 27, 1988) is a Dutch designer best known for his floral and interior designs. Kneepkens was born in Breda in 1988 where he studied Floral & Design at the Prinsentuin College (2005-2009). Afterwards he studied floral design at the Stoas University of Applied Sciences and Teacher Education (2009-2012). After working for highly acclaimed national companies such as Anggrek TS and RAW interiors Kneepkens founded his own company DK - Dennis Kneepkens in 2009, focussing on flowers, interiors, hotels, events, concepts and art & objects. His clients include Dubai's Burj Al Arab Hotel, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, Keukenhof, Flower Council Holland and Floralien Nederland.
Life
Born in Breda, Kneepkens graduated from the Prinsentuin College in 2009. Winning the ROC Student of the Year 2007 contest out of 15.000 students, he earned a position as a Floral & Design Teacher at the 'Worlds only 7 star' Burj Al Arab Hotel, forming the start of his international career.
After graduating in 2009, Kneepkens founded his own company DK - Dennis Kneepkens focussing on flowers, interiors, hotels, events, concepts and art & objects. The company realized projects in Holland, England, Greece, Russia and Iraq with clients such as Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, Keukenhof, Flower Council Holland and Floralien Nederland.
Kneepkens has participated in various contests and won several prizes including the National Championship Floral Art and the Brabantcup. His work has been featured in various Dutch and English magazines such as Talent Magazine and De Pook, on magazine covers such as Fusion Flowers, in newspapers such as BN DeStem and Trouw, television shows and radio shows. In 2007, Kneepkens participated in the creation of the book Wedding Stories by Master Florist Robert Koene.
Work
Kneepkens has made it his mission 'to make people smile'. In his designs Kneepkens uses a combination of natural materials and artisan craftsmanship paired with contemporary strong lines and symmetrical shapes. Besides decorating luxury weddings and doing demonstrations, interior projects have become increasingly important in Kneepkens work, decorating various four and five star hotels in the Middle East as well as private residences in the Netherlands.
In 2014, Kneepkens celebrated the launch of his greatest project to date: the decoration and opening of the five-star deluxe Grand Millennium Hotel operated by Millennium & Copthorne Hotels. The hotel designed by Arkonsult Engineering Consultants houses 253 rooms and suites with floor to ceiling windows, three restaurants and a ballroom to host up to 1.200 guests. Kneepkens decorated the grand opening with over 25.000 flowers.
