Denis Casavant

Denis Casavant (Born 1965) is a journalist and a sportscaster on both television and radio in Quebec.

Native of Hull, Quebec, he began his career with CKCH in 1982. He initially covered the Hull Olympiques and Ottawa Rough Riders. In 1986, he moved to CKAC where he joined Jacques Doucet and Rodger Brulotte on the Montreal Expos radio broadcasts. 1990 he moved the RDS television network as the Expos' play-by-play commentator. He remained with the Expos until their move from Montreal in 2004.

Since 2001, Denis has done play-by-play for NFL games on RDS. He has also broadcasted games for the Montreal Alouettes with Pierre Vercheval since 2003.

In 2002, he broadcasted Freestyle skiing and Snowboarding for Radio-Canada during the Salt Lake City Olympics. Casavant has also been part RDS's coverage of the Sydney and Athens Olympics, doing the play-by-play for basketball.

Casavant also contributes to and CFCF 12. He co-hosts the Morning Show on THE TEAM 990 with Elliott Price and Shaun Starr.

His favorite broadcasters are Jacques Doucet, Dave Van Horne and Dick Enberg.

He lives in Notre-Dame de l'Ile Perrot with his wife of 19 years, Lynne, and their two sons Mathieu, 16 and Daniel, 14.
