Travis Demers (born October 25, 1981) is an American sports radio update anchor, talk show host, play by play announcer, and reporter for ESPN Sports Radio 1080 The FAN (KFXX-AM) in Portland, Oregon. Early life and education He was born on October 25, 1981 in Mount Kisco, New York, to Lionel and Cheryl Demers. He was raised in Northern Westchester County, NY, and attended John Jay High School. He is a 2003 graduate of the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University with a BFA degree in broadcasting. Radio career Demers began his career as a producer for ABC Sports Radio in 2002. He wanted to pursue his on-air career so he left for a position as a play by play announcer for high school football and basketball at KAST-AM in Astoria, Oregon in August of 2003. He was hired in a small role at KFXX-AM covering Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers football. He now serves as the morning drive sportscenter update anchor on KFXX, and is also the co-host of the Miller Lite Great Taste Tailgate Show on Saturday mornings with Dusty Harrah, and the lead fill in host for the afternoon drive sports talk show, Primetime. Demers is the radio play by play voice of The FAN's high school football coverage, and has reported for ESPN Radio from Portland Trail Blazers and Oregon Ducks football games. Demers was also the play by play voice of the Portland LumberJax of the National Lacrosse League for the 2005 and 2006 seasons. Television career Demers' first full time television job was as a traffic reporter on KATU TV in Portland, Oregon. He was the sideline reporter for Oregon Sports Net's coverage of the Oregon Ducks Football team for select games in the 2009 season. He has also been featured on several local television shows, and was the play by play announcer for the 2009 Les Schwab Invitational high school basketball tournament on Comcast SportsNet Northwest. He has been a guest on ESPNEWS Pregame. Career highlights *Demers' first national radio appearance was as play by play announcer for the 2007 National Lacrosse League All Star game on Sirius Satellite Radio. *Demers' first national television appearance was as a panel guest on ESPNews Pregame on October 30, 2008. *Demers has conducted the first and only one on one interview with Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount following his suspension at the beginning of the 2009 season.
