Dave Eddy

Dave Eddy was a radio host for more than fifty years, nearly 47 of them at WBCK in Battle Creek, Michigan. He began hosting the Morning Show in 1961 and retired in January of 2008. During his time hosting the show he was known as the "morning mayor".

Career
Eddy was born in Albion, Michigan, the youngest of four sons. (This is not the same Dave Eddy as film maker and rock photographer Dave Eddy) He grew up there and graduated from Albion High School. Immediately he went to work for the local radio station WALM as a salesperson, eventually doing some on-air work, then becoming chief announcer and news director. In August 1960 he moved to WBCK in Battle Creek, Michigan eventually becoming chief announcer and program director.

In June 2006 Dave marked fifty years in the broadcast industry.

In January of 2008 Dave announced his plans to retire from broadcasting on WBCK after 47 years on the air.

Congressman Tim Walberg honored Eddy with a Congressional resolution during an in-studio visit during his January 2008 on-air retirement celebration.
