Deji Balogun

Adedeji Olusoji Balogun was born in Ikorodu on the 3rd of November 1960 to Mr& Mrs. Ademola Balogun. He began his educational career at Jama-at-ul Islamiyya Primary School, Epetedo Lagos and proceeded to Igbobi College Yaba, Lagos where he obtained both the West African School Certificate in 1977 and GCE A level’s in 1980. He obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree in English studies from the University of Ife now (Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife in 1987.
He began his professional broadcasting career in 1981 as a presenter of a Youth Programme in 1981 on Radio Lagos and later on as a Continuity Announcer/Presenter before proceeding to Ife for his degree. Before coming to Lagos Television in 1994, he had worked as Information Officer in Directorate of MAMSER in Bauchi State and as Senior Continuity Announcer/Presenter in Ondo State Radio/ Television Corporation.
He was seconded to the Lagos State House of Assembly in July 2001 as Head of Information and Public Relations / Media Adviser to the Speaker of the House Rt. Honorable Adeleke Olorunnimbe Mamora. He resumed back in LTV in March 2005 as Head, Corporate Affairs Unit before being deployed as the Head of Sports and later Director of Amuludun Telly, a purely indigenous platform providing content for HITV while at the same time coordinating the Sports Desk LTV. He rose to become the Director of Programmes in Lagos Television before his appointment as the General Manager.
A Christian and soccer enthusiast, Adedeji is married and has children.
