Dejan Lopez

Dejan López is a Spanish academician working in USA. He was raised in Madrid (Spain) in a worker class family of mixed ethnicity (Croatian/Spanish).
After finishing his Bachelors of Science in Madrid, he moved to USA to complete his Ph.D. in mathematical physics.

Being very critical with the evolution of the political system in Spain since the transition to the democracy in 1975-78, he has been trying to indicate and show up, even where they are hidden, all the relationships of political power which actually control the Spanish society.

Also, he opposes the present institutional vertebration of the university in Spain, he has been pointing out its lack of political independence and its polarized support of collectivist ideologies. In his opinion, the present status of the university, is a reflection of the current problems of the Spanish society, which are: the democratic dictatorship of certain classes, the centralized political power, the regional fragmentation, and the low influence of liberal thought in the political and institutional landscapes.
