In 2008, Deborah Regal was appointed as an Independent Member of the Metropolitan Police Authority, then chaired by London Mayor Boris Johnson. She resigned in March 2010. In November 2008, Deborah was named by the Attorney General as a Pro Bono hero for her legal charity services work .
