Dean Moore

Dean Moore (born June 23, 1989 in Bradenton, Florida, Florida) is an American professional Ice Hockey Defenseman currently playing for the Mississippi Surge of the Southern Professional Hockey League.
Early life
He was born Bradenton, Florida, Moore played Midget Ice Hockey for the Florida Eeels of the Southeast Junior Hockey League.<ref name="Dean Moore EliteProspects.com Profile" /><ref name="Dean Moore Enrolls at Berkshire School" />
After ending his Midget Ice Hockey career, Moore enrolled at the Berkshire School, a boarding school in Sheffield, Massachusetts.<ref name="Dean Moore Enrolls at Berkshire School" /> While at Berkshire School, he played Ice Hockey for the school for the 2005-06 season.<ref name="Dean Moore Enrolls at Berkshire School" /><ref name="2005-06 Berkshire School Men's Hockey Roster" />
For the 2007-08 season, Moore played for both the Florida Eeels in a second stint, followed by the Bridgewater Bandits of the Eastern Junior Hockey League.<ref name="Dean Moore EliteProspects.com Profile" /> Moore would play with Bandits through the 2008-09 season.<ref name="Dean Moore EliteProspects.com Profile" /> During the 2008-09 season Moore was selected to compete in the EJHL All Star game representing the Bridgewater Bandits.<ref name="Dean Moore Named to 2009 EJHL All-Star Game" /> For the 2009-10 season, Moore's last in the Eastern Junior Hockey League, he would start the season with the Philadelphia Revolution, playing 12 games for the team, followed by 12 more games for the New Jersey Hitmen.<ref name="Dean Moore EliteProspects.com Profile" />
Professional career
Plays now for the Florida Ice Flyers
During the 2009-10 season, during which he ended his Junior Ice Hockey career and also failed to meet the requirements of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) clearinghouse, Moore turned professional. On December 31, 2009, Moore signed with the Louisiana IceGators of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).<ref name="Southern Professional Hockey League 2009-10 Regular Season Transactions" /> On February 5, 2010, Moore was called up to the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL, for which he would play 3 games before being sent back down to the IceGators on February 11, 2010.<ref name="Southern Professional Hockey League 2009-10 Regular Season Transactions" /><ref name="Dean Moore Signs with Mississippi RiverKings" />
Moore would spend the entire 2010-11 season in the SPHL, playing for both the Louisiana IceGators and the Fayetteville FireAntz.<ref name="Dean Moore EliteProspects.com Profile" />
For the 2011-12 season, Moore split his time between Kramfors-Alliansen of the Swedish league Division 1 and the Melbourne Mustangs of the Australian Ice Hockey League.<ref name="Dean Moore EliteProspects.com Profile" /> During his time with Kramfors-Alliansen, Moore set a new single-season league record for scoring by a North American defenseman with 9 goals and 37 assists in 38 games played.<ref name="Dean Moore Sets a New Division 1 (Sweden) League Record for Single-Season Scoring by a North American Defenseman" />
For the 2012-13 season, Moore split his time between IF Sundsvall Hockey of the Swedish league Division 1 and the Toledo Walleye, Florida Everblades, and Colorado Eagles of the ECHL.<ref name="Dean Moore EliteProspects.com Profile" /> Moore, who was already known for playing on the edge and having outbursts, served a 5 game suspension while playing for IF Sundsvall Hockey for attacking a defenseless player.<ref name="Dean Moore Suspended for 5 Games in Division 1 (Sweden)" />
For the 2013-14 season, started the season with the St. Charles Chill of the Central Hockey League before joining the Mississippi Surge of the Southern Professional Hockey League.<ref name="Missouri Mavericks Sign Dean Moore" /> On January 25, 2014, Moore was loaned by the Surge to the Missouri Mavericks of the Central Hockey League.<ref name="Missouri Mavericks Sign Dean Moore" /><ref name="Mississippi Surge 2013-14 Regular Season Transactions" /> On February 5, 2014, the Mavericks cancelled the loan of Moore to the team, returning Moore to the Surge.<ref name="Mississippi Surge 2013-14 Regular Season Transactions" /><ref name="Mavericks Release Dean Moore from Loan, Moore Returns to Mississippi Surge" />
For the 2014-15 season Moore started the year with Tranas of Sweden signing a one month contract. With one week remaining in his contract Moore was set to sign with Bjorkloven of the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan but due to Bjorkloven getting a player on loan they could no longer honor the contract. http://www.taif.se/dean-moore-avslutar-kontraktet-med-taif/. Moore then went on to sign with Vimmerby Hockey where he has now been since departing Tranas.
