David Whittet

David Whittet is a physician, filmmaker, producer and director of over 20 films. He is best known for the Amiri & Aroha Trilogy starring Shayne Biddle, Ebony Tuhaka, Michael Hollis, Shane Luke and Warren Philp. Filmed in New Zealand over a period of 3 years 2009 - 2012 broadcast on the winner of the Prestige Film Awards Hollywood. and other awards in Hollywood.
Whittet is the only New Zealander to have won the Wonca Foundation Award, and has done so twice, firstly at the 15th Wonca World Conference of Family Medicine in Dublin, Ireland in 1998 for a project to develop family medicine in rural India and secondly atthe 19th Wonca World Conference in Cancun, Mexico in May 2010 to support the project in Cambodia.
