David N. Rahni (aka Davood M.A. Nabi Rahni) (born 10 July 1956 in Dezashib, Shemiran, Iran) is the associate provost for academic affairs at Pace University and the founder of Chemical Detectives, Scientific and Allied Health Associates, LLC. Raised in Evin, Iran, he is of Persian (Natanzi ancestry) heritage. Career Rahni is the associate provost for academic affairs and professor of chemistry at Pace University New York; he has also served as an adjunct professor of environmental law, and adjunct professor of dermatology at New York Medical College. He has been involved in the development of in-vivo biosensors for Neuropsychopharmacology at CUNY’s Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education in Harlem, NY. Rahni is recognized worldwide for his multifaceted contributions to the advancement of teaching of chemistry, environmental science and law, his seminal scholarships on the development of biosensors for clinical, environmental, forensics and neuro-psycho-pharmacological assays, and his relentless gratis leadership roles on the stewardship of professional societies and community endeavors. Rahni, a multi-lingual who has served as visiting professor in many countries (as a Fulbright in Denmark and visiting Professor in Oxford) has been engaged in the fields of bio-electro-analytical chemistry, biosensors, clinical and environmental assays, nanoengineering, asymmetric synthesis of congested ring heterocyclics, manufacturing, in vitro and in vivo monitoring of brain neurotransmitters, process and QA/QC (nano-) engineering and forensics. He was a councilor of the American Chemical Society and has also served as a member of the Board of Editors of the FBI’s Forensic Science Committee Journal.
