David Gash is an iconic socialite and sports personality in Ireland. Early Life Although an Irish citizen, David Gash was born in the Southern Alps where he lived until the age of 9. His father, son of celebrated yodler Hans Gash, moved to the area from Vienna to set up a forestry business in the Mount Cook region of South Island. This is where he met his wife, the eldest daughter of a local sheep farmer. Professional Hockey David Gash is famed for representing the Munster U-18 hockey team at the 2004 interprovincionals in the Three Rock Rovers grounds, Rathfarnham. After his high profile move from Cork Harlequins to UCC at the start of the 2008 David helped his new club the quarter finals of the Irish Hockey Trophy. Upon suffering a near career threatening neck injury in late 2008 Gash got into the business of underwear modeling thanks to his contacts through girlfriend Sadhbh O'Leary. Coaching Career While recovering from his injury, Gash has taken up a full time coaching role with the UCC Ladies Hockey Club where he oversees the elite Division Five panel. Personal Life David Gash is the Godson of Bishop Paul Colton, famous for being the celebrant at the wedding of David Beckham and Victoria Adams. His interest include ornithology and crochet. He is season ticket holder at the Estádio Municipal de Aveiro and had suppoerted S.C. Beira-Mar all his life. During the Summer months, Gash returns to Mount Cook where he enjoys snow-boarding and skiing with his extended family.
