Career “We encourage, enlighten, and empower others by sharing our creative expressions.” This is a quote created by Lindsey that she has been living by since she can remember. At the age of five she remembers entertaining her mother in their Illinois apartment. She would do so by using a blanket to imitate a cape, dropping dabs of water on her face as if she were sweating, and then turning on her Big Bird record player to sing along to James Brown’s “I feel good” record, while blotting the water with a Kleenex. This was just the start for the young musician who attended Roosevelt School of performing arts. There, she learned to play the violin at the age of seven, as well as ballet, tap, and jazz. As a result of her parents musical and spoken word background she also ventured off into poetry at the age of nine. She received recognition by the National Poetry Society and has had her work featured throughout literature circulated in grammar school, high school, and college. By the time Lindsey turned sixteen, she had already written six poetry books that she sold via her company developed with the assistance of The Young Entrepreneurs Society. Despite the exposure to a wide array of genres and art forms she moved more towards spoken word, R&B and Neo-soul. After graduating she immediately moved to Georgia to pursue her music and spoken word career. Within six months she finished her demo, which is currently being distributed. Included in the demo are influences from Mexico and Spain. With the assistance of Seb Studios, Lindsey composed, recorded, and mixed all three tracks of her demo. In addition, Lindsey has entered competitions throughout Georgia. Amongst those competitions were the National Film and Fashion Board, in which she won first place. Also, she was runner up for the Fox 5 theme makeover competition.
