Dariusz Burkowski

Dariusz Burkowski was born on October 28, 1982 in Zielona Gora, Poland. He is a Polish comedian, actor and translator of American dramatic literature.

After five years at Technical High School in Zielona Gora, Dariusz Burkowski graduated with a diploma in computer science - audio technology. He moved to Gdansk in 2002 where he attended the University of Gdansk until his graduation in 2005 in English philology. In the meantime he co-founded a comedy group "Kabaret Sciegno" ("Tendom") with Mateusz Jablonski, Patryk Marcinkowski and Krzysztof Niecko. The group lasted for three years and produced three programs.

Burkowski has been a member of the Wybrzezak Theatre company in Gdansk since 2002 and has played many significant roles in such productions as: "Romeo and Juliet" (Merkutio); (One flew over the coockoo's nest) (Washington); "The Trial" by Kafka (Huld); "The Good Doctor" by Neil Simon (The writer); "Family situations"by Bljana Srbljanovic (Andrija).

He became a recipient of a theatre scholarship at the University of Northern Iowa in 2007 and spent a year in the United States studying and performing. He played Puck in "Midsummer Night's Dream", directed by Jay Edelnant; Master of Ceremony
in "Best of Broadway", directed by Chelsea Cunningham and the role of Stanley in Arthur Miller's masterpiece "Death of a salesman", directed by Larry Paulsen.

Dariusz Burkowski has translated many plays for the purpose of many theatres, he is also the author of the official Polish translation of "The Good Doctor" ("Dobry Wujek" in Polish) that was performed on June 27 and June 28 in Gdansk.
