Daniel John Ayers (born in Tideswell, Derbyshire in 1964) is a Semantic Web advocate, software developer and technical writer who has been published by Wrox Press, Sams and Wiley. He was an active member of the Atom Syndication Format Working Group and is involved in microformats and RDF/OWL as of 2006. In 1980 he was a founding member of the industrial music group Nocturnal Emissions. Currently resident in Tuscany, he was married to the late Caroline K.
