Daniel J. Allie

Daniel John Allie (born June 19, 1959) is an American politician and activist. He is an at-large City Councilor in Westfield, Massachusetts and candidate for State Representative in the 4th Hampden District.
Early Life and Education
Allie was born on June 19, 1959 in Taunton, Massachusetts to Claire and Arthur Allie, one of two children with a sister Diane. His uncle, Jeff Allie, helped build the Dighton, Massachusetts ambulance service, and had retired as Fire Chief.
He graduated from Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School in 1977 and graduated from Springfield Technical Community College with a degree in graphic arts technology in 2002 and multi-media in 2003. Allie was Graphic Arts Student of the Year and received the Edmond P. Garvey Founder's Award for outstanding community service in 2002.
Military Service
Allie enlisted into the military in 1979 as a member of the United States Army. He graduated as Honor Graduate in Telecommunications. He served in West Germany for two and a half years as secretary to the battalion commander and field driver.
Westfield City Council
Elections
On November 5, 2013 Allie was elected an at-large City Councilor as the fifth highest vote getter in his first run for public office in Westfield. In January 2014, he resigned as Chairman of Westfield Republican City Committee and was endorsed as a candidate for state representative in the April 1 special election to fill the seat, formerly held by Senator Don Humason. He was unopposed in the Republican primary, but lost to Democrat John Velis in the special election. The two will face off again in the regular November 2014 election.

Political Positions
Allie describes himself as social and fiscal Republican with Libertarian leanings, especially on issues of sound money, auditing the Federal Reserve, unconstitutional wars, the corrupting influence of big money in politics, and a "Pierce" Republican, referring to former State Representative and former House Minority Steven Pierce.
Allie grew up as a liberal Democrat in the 1960s. While living in Holyoke in 1989, he registered, officially, as a Republican, to become a delegate for Piece's failed run for Governor. Allie needed to organize a ward committee, simply to attend the state convention as a ward delegate.
Observing the lack of organization at the grassroots level, the top down status quo of political parties and the intellectual of the liberal media first hand, Allie became an activist, writer, grassroots organizer, and political consultant and campaign manager for numerous campaigns.
Allie served as the Republican City Chairman in Holyoke in the 1990s and in 2011 became the Westfield Republican City Chairman after returning to politics in 2009 for the US Special election of Scott Brown.
In 2012, Allie was elected as the top vote getting delegate from the First Congressional District to the Republican National Convention.
Allie is a staunch supporter of the US Constitution, especially of the First, Second, and Fourth Amendments.
Personal life
Dan and his wife Theresa (Jackson) were married September 23, 1989 and have three children, Christina, Marie, and Joseph and three grandchildren, Chloe, Mabel, and Jack.
