Daniel Petrovich Goojvin is a renown Iranian opera singer, artist and art dealer currently residing in Tujunga, California. Early Years Goojvin was born in Arak, Iran, to parents who had immigrated from Sevastopol, Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic and Minsk, Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic. He attended the Russian school in the city and furthered his studies at the local university, where he undertook opera studies. Pre-revolution era Prior to the 1979 Iranian Revolution, Goojvin, along with Monir Vakili, preformed regularly at the Rudaki Theatre. They are perhaps most famous for their presentaiton of Turnadot, which was known for launching Vakili's career within the country. Post-revolution era Following the Revolution, Opera became banned in Iran and Goojvin moved to Athens, Greece. While in athens, he undertook painting and artistry, opening up a gallery portraying some of his creations. Recent In 1984, Goojvin immigrated to the United States. Using the connections he had established during his early years in Iran, he began working at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, California. His sucsess led him to make a mainstream appearance in the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film, Man Trouble, staring alongside Jack Nicholson and Ellen Barkin.
