Dan Pelc

Dan Pelc (born March 8, 1986 in Hamilton, Ontario) is a Canadian soccer player currently without a club.
Career
Youth, College and early pro career
Pelc attended St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School in Hamilton, Ontario, and played club soccer for Oakville Wisla United and Saltfleet Go Ahead Soccer Club before signing his first professional contract with Hamilton Thunder of the Canadian Soccer League while still in high school. Although he never featured in any games for Thunder, his team finished top of the CSL Western Conference standings and lost in the semi finals of the Rogers Cup playoffs during his second season with the club.
Pelc then played four years of college soccer at Southern New Hampshire University, where he was starting goalkeeper each year. He is tied for second on SNHU's all-time record list with 22 career shutouts.
Professional
After unsuccessful tryouts at English clubs Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest, and Polish club Górnik Zabrze, Pelc signed his first professional contract in 2007 when he signed with CSL club Serbian White Eagles. He helped the White Eagles to their first-ever CSL championship title in his debut season, and was named CSL Goalkeeper of the Year after leading the White Eagles to a first place finish in the league's International Division and the CSL championship game in 2009.
Pelc signed with the Vancouver Whitecaps on April 1, 2010. On October 19, 2010, the Vancouver Whitecaps released Pelc, along with five fellow players, citing their need to purge certain players in preparation for their upcoming promotion to Major League Soccer.

Pelc's parents are immigrants from Poland and he speaks Polish. He lists his favourite goalkeeper as Peter Schmeichel.
