Damek Tomscha

Damek Tomscha (born August 27, 1991) is an American professional baseball third baseman for the Sioux Falls Canaries of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball.
Career
Tomscha attended North High School in Sioux City, Iowa, and graduated in 2010. He was named the state's high school baseball player of the year.
The Phillies selected Tomscha in the 50th round of the 2010 MLB draft. He did not sign and enrolled at Iowa Western Community College. The Florida Marlins then selected Tomscha in the 36th round of the 2011 MLB draft, and the Chicago Cubs chose him in the 19th round of the 2012 MLB draft, but he did not sign either time, turning down a $160,000 signing bonus offer from Chicago. Instead, he transferred to Auburn University and played for two seasons for the Auburn Tigers.
The Phillies selected Tomscha in the 17th round, with the 502nd overall selection, of the 2014 MLB draft, and he signed. He played for the Lakewood BlueClaws of the Class A South Atlantic League in 2015, and was again assigned to Lakewood in 2016. In 2017, he began the season with the Clearwater Threshers of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League, and was promoted to the Reading Fightin Phils of the Class AA Eastern League. He began the 2018 season with Reading and was promoted to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs of the Class AAA International League. In 2019, he began the season with Lehigh Valley, hitting .219/.301/.399 with 19 RBIs across 53 games before he was released on June 20, 2019.
On June 28, 2019, Tomscha signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox and was assigned to the Double-A Birmingham Barons, with whom he batted .269/.333/.410 in 156 at bats. He was released by the organization on June 18, 2020.
On June 25, 2020, Tomscha signed with the Sioux Falls Canaries of the independent American Association.
