Mason Melotakis

Mason Emmanual Melotakis (born June 28, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cleburne Railroaders of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball. He has previously played in the Minnesota Twins organization.
Career
Minnesota Twins
Melotakis was drafted in the 2nd round, 63rd overall in the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft by the Minnesota Twins out of Northwestern State. He signed with the Twins on June 17, 2012, and was assigned to the Elizabethton Twins. Melotakis played in the Twins minor league system through the 2014 season, reaching as high as the Double-A New Britain Rock Cats. In October 2014, Melotakis underwent Tommy John surgery, and missed the 2015 season. On November 20, 2015, Melotakis had his contract selected by the Twins. Melotakis spent 2016 with the Chattanooga Lookouts, and didn't receive a call-up to the major league club. He played for Chattanooga and the Rochester Red Wings in 2017. On June 23, 2017, Melotakis was designated for assignment by the Twins. He began 2018 with Rochester, but was released on May 11, 2018.
Colorado Rockies
On May 17, 2018, Melotakis signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies. He finished out the 2018 season with the Albuquerque Isotopes. Melotakis elected free agency on November 2, 2018.
Cleburne Railroaders
On March 20, 2020, Melotakis signed with the Cleburne Railroaders of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball.
