Devan Scott Watts (born April 21, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is currently a free agent. Career Watts attended Mooresville High School in Mooresville, North Carolina and played college baseball at Tusculum College. He did not start pitching until his senior year of high school. Watts was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 17th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft. Watts made his professional debut with the Danville Braves and was promoted to the Rome Braves. He posted a combined 3-1 record with a 0.79 ERA in twenty relief appearances between both teams. He started 2017 with the Florida Fire Frogs and was promoted to the Mississippi Braves during the season. In 58.2 total relief innings, Watts pitched to a 1-2 record, 2.15 ERA, and 65 strikeouts. In 2018, Watts pitched to a 0-2 record and 9.49 ERA with the Florida Fire Frogs, leading to his release on June 5, 2018. On June 18, he signed with the York Revolution of the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. After posting a 2.79 ERA and 10 strikeouts over 9.2 innings, Watts's contract was purchased by the Chicago White Sox on July 17, and he was assigned to the Winston-Salem Dash. In 19.2 relief innings pitched for Winston-Salem, he compiled a 2.75 ERA. Watts was released by the organization on March 19, 2019.
