In 1996 Sayga Investment Company was established and has grown since then to become the foremost flour milling and packaging company in Sudan, with a leading position in the supply of flour to bakeries and a dominant position in supplying packaged flour, sorghum and pasta to consumers.
In 1997 DAL Dairy Factory was established to pioneer the provision of pasteurised fresh milk and UHT (Ultra Heat Treated) milk in Sudan, and is now the leading dairy company in the country.
DAL Food Industries was then set up in 2002 to produce, pack and distribute Coca-Cola products. It also incorporates the leading water brand Safia, and an array of fruit juices.
In December 2013, the four DAL Group companies operating in agriculture, dairy, flour and grains, and beverages were brought together into one operating structure to create the agri-food company DAL Food with the vision of becoming the biggest provider of basic staple food and drinks in Sudan.

Corporate Social Responsibilty
Sayga's CSR program focuses on health and nutrition, environmental stewardship and national capacity building. One of its most noteworthy projects is the Baking Development Center. This program offers training cources in culinary arts, baking, technical business support and basic management, free of charge. Over the years, this fascinating initiative has created a multiplier effect to alleviate malnutrition at a country-wide scale. Firstly, compared to a simple food dole out, this program focuses on increasing the national food production capacity. Secondly, by reaching out to different societal groups such as professionals and housewives, BDC also widens the distribution channels of food. Finally, BDC contributes to the overall human development, improves the employment market, and stimulates the national economy. Sayga understands the critical role of partnerships to proliferate a CSR culture in Sudan. One of its major challenges is to redefine a predominant mindset that CSR is just about advertising and promotions.
