Dakoda Armstrong

Dakoda Armstrong (born July 16, 1991) is a Midget, Stock Car and NASCAR Truck Series Driver from New Castle, Indiana. He drives the # 7a Armstrong Farms/Ferrellgas Midget, the #22 Cunningham Motorsports Dodge in the ARCA Racing Series, and the #98 AgriSure/Ferrellgas Chevrolet for ThorSport Racing
Dakoda Armstrong began his racing career competing in go-karts at the age of 6. Since claiming the 1998 WKA National Championship in his first year of competition, he has gone on to capture over 200 feature wins while competing in Go-Karts, Quarter Midgets, Bandoleros, Micro/Mini Sprints, Kenyon Midgets, 410 Non-Wing Sprint Cars and Midgets. Among his most significant achievements, Dakoda became the youngest driver at age 13 to win a USAC National Championship title.
The Indiana native’s next move came in 2009 when he signed with Penske Racing as a development driver and began competing in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. The following season, he won two races in the competitive field (Talladega Superspeeday and Salem Speedway), which helped him on his way to become the 2010 ARCA rookie of the year. This season, Armstrong has spent time behind the wheel in his USAC midget, along with five ARCA Racing Series starts that include a win in his most recent start at Winchester Speedway. On July 16, 2011 Armstrong made his debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Iowa Speedway, driving the No. 98 Chevy Silverado for ThorSport Racing. He is a teammate of veteran drivers Matt Crafton and Johnny Sauter, both of whom have impressive resumes and Victory Lane expectations at ThorSport Racing.
Beyond the racetrack, Armstrong’s Indiana family grain farming operation grows corn that is used to make ethanol fuel for various energy programs. While growing up on the farm, he worked on his own racecars in the facilities on his family’s property. Aside from racing, Dakoda enjoys getting back to his roots and attends open wheel events whenever he can, especially if he can be at the track to mentor his younger brother, Dalton, and Cousin, Caleb,when they’re racing. His hobbies also include working out, racing his friends in iRacing and watching football.
