Cynthia Ashley-Nelson

Cynthia Ashley-Nelson was a female editor and administrator of , an activist against slavery and human traffic and was vice-chair of Wikimedia's Affiliations Committee.
Biography
Cynthia was Born in California in 1960. Her family has been abolitionist for more than 8 generations and she was the founder of Catalyst Resource Network, an organization against slavery and human traffic.
Early Years
Ashley obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Human Resources Management.
Activity
Cynthia worked for the Mental Health Planning and Advisory Council of the State of Washington for ten years.
Ashley also was an active contributor since 2007, she was the 1,635th most active ns out of more than 100,000. Ashley was part of WikiProject Women's History and WikiProject Books.
Ashley-Nelson was actively involved in many parts of the Wikimedia community beyond her position on the Affiliations Committee. She served as a moderator on the Wikimedia Foundation's gendergap mailing list, a list dedicated to addressing the under representation of women as contributors.
She wrote eight Did You Knows that appeared on the front page of the project, and contributed to two Good Articles, the Washington: A Life article and the Anthony Ashley-Cooper, 10th Earl of Shaftesbury article.
She was an administrator on English . She had previously been a member of Wikimedia's Grant Advisory Committee, where she assisted in reviewing grant applications submitted by members of the Wikimedia community. She was involved with Wikimedia's Global Education Program, assisting students and professors with improving articles about global and United States public policy. She was also involved in the education program as an Online Ambassador, a member of the Ambassador Selection Team and Ambassador Steering Committee.
Catalyst Resource Network
Cynthia was the founder and executive director of Catalyst Resource Network. An organization that fights one of the remaining areas of slavery: sex trafficking and exploitation. Their Facebook page says: "We're basically a modern day Underground Railroad".
Vice-Chair of Wikimedia's Affiliations Committee
Cynthia joined the Wikimedia's Affiliations Committee (AffCom) in 2014, and became the vice chair on April 9 of that year. April 24 was her first meeting as an AffCom member.
Death
Cynthia Ashley-Nelson died in her sleep one day after her nomination to vice-chair of AffCom. There is no information about the result of her autopsy.
