Curtis Scoon

Curtis Scoon is a former suspect in the notorious murder of legendary DJ Jam Master Jay AKA Jason Mizell of the iconic rap group Run-DMC. Scoon was immediately suspected in the crime and sought for questioning after numerous informants implicated him. He quickly retained famed NY defense attorney Marvyn Kornberg, who adamantly advised the NYPD they were "barking up the wrong tree." No charges were ever filed and the murder remains yet unsolved, but the incident served to thrust Scoon into the public eye. His story and personal account was first detailed in the December 2003 issue of Playboy Magazine. He then proceeded to work with author Ethan Brown, on his critically acclaimed tome, "Queens Reigns Supreme: Fat Cat, 50 Cent and The Rise of The Hip Hop Hustler" for which Scoon was the sole contributor and primary source. As a gesture of gratitude Brown dedicated the book to Scoon under his alias, "The Snake Charmer." Scoon has since become a journalist and TV producer, having worked on the NAACP Image Award winning series, "American Gangster," featured on the BET Network. In the debut season of American Gangster Scoon is listed in the credits as a consultant for the Lorenzo "Fat Cat" Nichols episode. In season 2 Scoon is listed as co-producer for the "Supreme" McGriff episode and for the 3rd and final season he received full producer credit for the Jamaican Shower Posse episode.
Currently, Scoon is developing independent films and documentaries.
