Curry Picking

Curry Picking is a lead guitar style or pick technique used in guitar music where the plucked strings are picked in a half muted way (i.e. leaving the string partially muted) by the help of the side of the palm at picking hand, close to the bridge, to produce a sound similar to a sitar which is an Indian instrument (hence the tounge in cheek name, for the technique). This only works on single notes or at most two notes/strings at once. By using only downstrokes it becomes reminiscent of the sound produced by a Coral Electric Sitar. Any kind of pick and any kind of guitar can be used, without modifications or special effects.
"Curry Picking" can also be used as a synonym for ""sitar picking"".
