Crystal Davis

Crystal Dianne Davis (born January 30, 1993) is an American beauty pageant titleholder from Anna, Illinois, who was crowned Miss Illinois 2015. She competed for the Miss America 2016 title in September 2015.
Pageant career
Early titles
Before entering the Miss America system of pageants, Davis was crowned Cobden Peach Festival Queen on August 6, 2011.<ref name="soil110808"/> On August 21, she won the title Miss Union County Fair.<ref name="soil110823"/><ref name="pabc120125"/><ref name="gazd120504"/> In January 2012, she vied for the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen title and placed as a top-15 finalist.<ref name="carm120125"/><ref name="gazd120127"/>
Vying for Miss Illinois
On September 16, 2012, Davis won the Miss Marion Main Street 2013 title then competed as one of 32 entrants in the 2013 Miss Illinois pageant.<ref name="dlyr120927"/><ref name="msil13lt"/><ref name="msam2013"/> She was not a top-11 finalist.<ref name="soil130630"/> On November 9, 2013, Davis won the Miss Southern Sweetheart 2014 title then competed in the 2014 Miss Illinois pageant.<ref name="soil131115"/><ref name="dlyr140612"/><ref name="msil14lt"/><ref name="msam2014"/> She was named was a top-ten finalist and the People's Choice winner.<ref name="wpsd140615"/>
Miss Illinois 2015
On August 9, 2014, Davis was crowned Miss Southern Illinois 2015.<ref name="gazd140815"/> This win made her eligible to compete in the 2015 Miss Illinois pageant at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center for her third attempt at the statewide title.<ref name="gazd140815"/><ref name="msil15lt"/><ref name="soil150613"/> Entering the state pageant in June 2015 as one of 31 finalists, Davis's preliminary competition talent was singing "", a song first made famous by Frank Sinatra.<ref name="soil150613"/> Her platform is "Crystal Clear Driving: Eyes On the Road Ahead".<ref name="msil15lt"/>
Davis won the competition on Saturday, June 13, 2015, when she received her crown from outgoing Miss Illinois titleholder Marisa Buchheit.<ref name="soil150613"/> She earned more than $14,000 in scholarship money from the state pageant.<ref name="soil150613"/> As Miss Illinois, her activities include public appearances and charity work across the state.<ref name="wsil150613"/>
Vying for Miss America 2016
Davis was Illinois's representative at the Miss America 2016 pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in September 2015.<ref name="wsil150613"/><ref name="msam2015"/> In the televised finale on September 13, 2015, she placed outside the Top 15 semi-finalists and was eliminated from competition. She was awarded a $3,000 scholarship prize as her state's representative.<ref name="msam16show"/><ref name="msam150916"/>
Early life and education
Davis is a native of Anna, Illinois, and a graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School.<ref name="soil110808"/><ref name="gazd120504"/> Her father is W.L. Davis and her mother is Debra Davis.<ref name="soil110808"/><ref name="gazd120127"/> Davis attended Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Illinois.<ref name="soil110808"/><ref name="gazd130621"/>
