Crafty Simian

Crafty Simian are a 5 piece Indie Rock band based in the North East of England, United Kingdom. The band consists of Greg Robinson (Vocals), Phil Holliday (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Craig Bartlett (Guitar), Dean Murphy (Bass), and Richard James Plater (Drums). The band formed in January 2008 but the line up has gone through some changes since then. The original bass player, Stu Robinson, was replaced by Dean Murphy, Phil Holliday replaced original guitarist Jimmy Clement and Richard Plater replaced Neil Cocerin on drums.
Crafty Simian made thier TV debut on 'Best of the Bands 08'. The band released their debut single "The Losing Game" on the 27th of April 2009 through Diffusion Records. Following this the band have since crafted their sound and song writing with songs like "Jenny" and "Dirty Girls" receiving rave reviews, notably "Dirty Girls" topping the UK Unsigned Charts for a number of weeks. The band have been touring the UK in 2010 with some high profile support slots and have become regular favourites in the famous Dublin Castle Pub in Camden. In February 2010 Crafty Simian were nominated for best new band in the Camden Crawl Emerging Talent awards, and have since signed up with Red Zone Music Group management.
