Cornerstone Dub

Cornerstone Dub is a Ska/Rock/Reggae band based in Lincoln, Nebraska. The current band members are Billy Eltiste (Vocals/Guitar), Ted Kastl (Bass), Shane Venhaus (Drums), and Tim Aukerman (Trombone/Backing Vocals).

Formed in late 2000 by members Billy Eltiste and Ted Kastl. "C-Dub" (as many fans call them) is heavily influenced by the late Sublime, usually performing a few favorites by the band at their live performances. Other influences the band lists are Slightly Stoopid (who they have also played with) and reggae artists such as Barrington Levy, Born Jamericans, Bob Marley, and countless others. Cornerstone Dub to date has shared the stage with national acts such as Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, The Expendables, Shortbus, Bargain Music, Iration, The Itals, Shakedown, HR & Dub Agents, Jah Roots, 77 Jefferson, Insolence, and New Flavor Hawaiian reggae.

The band has released two recordings to date. Their debut EP called Lookin' Back has 6 tracks, and was self-produced and released by the band in 2005. Up to the point, the band was a 4-piece, but none of the band members played horns (only percussion was included), so they added trombone to the instrumental sound of the band, thus completing the Ska sound that they have today. The current lineup can be heard on their first full length album called Dub The Mood, released in spring of 2008. The band frequently plays live in Lincoln and many surrounding cities in Nebraska, but as the fan base and kinship with other bands grows, they have recently begun to branch out to play in other nearby states.
