Content Partners

Content Partners is an American intellectual property (IP) rights company.
History
Content Partners was founded by Steven Kram and Steven Blume in 2006. Originally the company was established to acquire 50% to 100% of the royalty payment rights from individuals with only small interests in films and television, and found early success in acquiring the rights from television writers during the 2007-08 Writers Guild of America strike. The company raised $50 million in its initial round of financing.
Business
The company purchases IP from content creators after they have run much of their lifetimes in order to resell the rights to new platforms. As of 2019 the company owned the rights to 400 films and about three thousand hours of television. In 2013 the company acquired 50% of the global rights to the television series CSI. In 2017 Content Partners acquired Revolution Studios for $400 million. At that time it had about $1 billion in assets under management.
