Colton Primary School

Colton Primary School is located in the Colton district of Leeds, and was established in 1892.
History of the First Building
The original buildings remained in use till the early 1990s, when they were closed for safety reasons. Although there was speculation of the main building becoming a grade II listed building, it was sold to an anonymous buyer, who left the property dormant.
The New Building
The new building is located 50 yards up the road from the old site. Under its current leadership the school has improved its standard abolishing parts of the old curriculum. Now the school teaches more modern aspects of northern society, and living in a city.
The Old Building's Site
Due to the amount of criminal activities on the land, and damage done to the old building, the sale of the land to property developers was an easy decision for Leeds City Council. New houses have now been built on the land, as Colton continues to urbanise.
