Collaperty is a real estate social network and crowdfunding platform founded in 2012. Collaperty aims to facilitate the collaboration between real estate investors and developers. Based in Boston, the company is one of the first companies to offer crowdfunding for the real estate industry. Concept Collaperty connects real estate investors and developers through a social media platform that also offers a crowdfunding system. Sponsors and developers can post real estate deals that are listed for accredited investors only. Retail investors will have access to the crowdfuding platform once the JOBS act in enacted. History Collaperty was founded in the spring of 2012 by several Northeastern University graduates. The start-up is part of Northeastern's Venture Accelerator, IDEA. In November 2012, Collaperty was the recipient of a $10,000 gap fund from the accelerator program. Collaperty has an advisory board consisting of real estate and investment banking professionals. As of February 2013 the management team has grown to 5 members.
