Colin S. Morris (born December 20, 1968 in San Diego, California) is an internationally known artist. Colin Morris spent his first 8 years in Del Mar, CA. He and his family then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California. In the spring of 1997 Colin left for Europe. He travelled from country to country supporting himself as a musician and part-time actor. While on vacation in the United States, after a chance encounter with an art dealer, he was able to fulfill his life-long dream of becoming a professional artist. The artist lives and works in Prague, Czech Republic and in California. His primary medium is graphite pencil. His works are mostly done in grayscale, black & white and color to enhance certain pieces. He draws a wide range of subjects and is able to achieve hyper-realistic detail. Capturing the essence of the character through their eyes is his trademark. Morris is known for an uncanny ability to bring his portraits "to life" making the viewer feel as though the subjects are in the room with you. Placing emphasis on both depth and dimension his pieces have a mesmerizing 3D effect. The detail of his depicted subjects is often such that, when viewing his original works, people repeatedly state that it feels as if they are "Alive." For over 20 years, the artist has lived and worked in Prague, Czech Republic.
