Coleen Christie is a Canadian broadcaster based in Vancouver, BC. She was the host of CTV News at 5 PM and co-host of CTV News at Noon in Vancouver, BC, Canada. She was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and raised in Victoria. She joined CIVT-TV in Vancouver in 1997 as an entertainment reporter and host. Shortly thereafter, she joined the VTV Breakfast team as a news anchor. In 2001 she was named co-host of CTV News at 5 with Ravi Baichwal. The following year she became the solo anchor of the newscast after Baichwal left to become an anchor for CTV News Channel. She has also hosted the CTV network's national morning show, "Canada AM." She left CTV January 2017. In 2014, Coleen presented a TEDx Vancouver talk on the challenges of modern media consumption. She is also an active participant in the Seattle-based motivational speaking organization, "Girls Can Do." Coleen also supports numerous community based and international charitable organizations. Coleen graduated from the University of Victoria with a BA in English Literature, History and Art History. She began her career in television at CHEK where she was an international award-winning promotion producer and creative director. Coleen is an animal lover whose hobbies include cooking, baking and learning as much as she can about science, politics, art, sports, nutrition, history.. She left CTV on January 30th, 2017.
