Facial Profiler is a novelty Facebook application and advertising campaign launched in the fall of 2009 by Coca-Cola Zero. Background The application uses facial recognition technology to search a database of voluntarily participating Facebook users to find people who look alike. Users have the option to contact their look-alike. The tagline of the campaign is “If Coke Zero has Coke’s taste, is it possible someone out there has your face?” The Facial Profiler’s initial phase is the creation of a "face database," from voluntarily participants. Once the database has gathered a statistically significant number of faces from both genders, various age groups and multiple ethnicities - results and matches will be released.
