Coey Turipa (born February 22, 1992) is a New Zealand goalkeeper who plays for the Nelson Suburbs in the Mainland Premier League. Turipa attended Nayland College and was a star of their first XI football team. Turipa is also a New Zealand U-17 football representative and played in all of New Zealand's FIFA U-17 World Cup matches in Nigeria conceding just three goals in pool play. After making it through to the round of 16, New Zealand came up against hosts Nigeria U-17 football team and lost 5-0. This was New Zealand U-17 football team's best performance at a FIFA tournament. Turipa now trains with the Wellington Phoenix and commutes to Nelson every weekend where he lines up in goal for Nelson Suburbs.
