Clare Ward is a British accountant,IT expert and corporate executive who serves as the chief information officer at Nairobi-based Kenya Airways, the national airline of that country. She was appointed to that position, effective 23 January 2019. Education and training She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry awarded by the Imperial College London. She then trained as an accountant and is qualified as a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), recognized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. She also underwent training under an Accelerated Development Programme at the London School of Business, and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor. Career Clare started her career in 1990 at Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers), where she worked as an IT Consultant for nearly five years. In 1995, she was hired by British Airways, where she worked for the next sixteen years.<ref name="2R"/> While at British Airways, she served in different capacities, including as Finance and Internal Audit Manager, Programme and Business Change Manager, Head of IT for the Corporate & Cargo Divisions, Head of Service Introduction and as Head of IT Passenger Service System and Airline Partners.<ref name="2R"/> In May 2011, she transferred to Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi. While there, she served in various roles including as Head of IT, in the Commercial Division, as Head of Alliance Planning and Development, as Head of Strategy & Performance and as Vice President of Technology & Innovation at Etihad Airways. She spent a total of just under six years at Etihad.<ref name="2R"/> She divided her time in 2017 at Dubai Airports and AlphaZetta Analytics.
