Christopher Engel is an abstract and figurative image painter and sculptor from New York City. Engel lives in Sag Harbor. His art often depicts outlined human figures with abstractions that appear to be primitive drawings.
Career
Engel has a father (Franklin Engel) who also creates abstract art. The father and son occasionally exhibit their work together.
in a 2016 exhibit, Engel explored the meaning of life though his art. He exhibited works which explored his devotion to Jungian philosophy. His art attempted to show mythical images of faces and silhouettes.
Personal
Christopher Engel's father Franklin Engel is also an artist. In 1977 when Engel was 15, a fire in his apartment caused him to live in a New York City theatre owned by his parents. He discovered the writings of Jung there and soon after became an artist.
