Christoph Kohl (born 1961, in Bolzano, South Tyrol, Italy) is an architect and urban planner. Biography After his studies of architecture at the Universities of Innsbruck and Vienna, Austria, he finished his thesis at the IUAV of the University of Venice, Italy, in 1988. Since 1993, he has run an architectural office in partnership with Rob Krier in Berlin, Germany. Since June 2010 he has been partner and director of KK Gesellschaft von Architekten mbH / Berlin, Germany and of Christoph Kohl Gesellschaft von Architekten mbH / Berlin, Germany. The Berlin-based firm of Rob Krier and Christoph Kohl Architekten is among the representatives of a movement in architecture and urban design that builds on the traditions of the European city. They use traditional methods to create contemporary reconstruction of the urban fabric. Since their participation in the construction and coordination of Kirchsteigfeld, Rob Krier and Christoph Kohl have been responsible for the design of planning projects in different European countries, with a focus on the Netherlands: De Resident in The Hague (The Netherlands), Noorderhof in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Meander (The Netherlands).
